What is it?
A CryptoParty is a decentralized global initiative where the general public is presented with basic tools to protect privacy, anonymity and general security on the Internet. The idea was conceived as a result of the 2011 Australian Cybercrime Legislation Amendment Bill and the reasoning is that laws like this are meaningless when everyone encrypts their communications.
CAD works for the defense of human rights in the digital sphere and in that sense we believe in the need to defend ourselves against the inaction of governments to protect our right to privacy.
A CryptoParty is inherently political, however partisan politics has no place in these spaces where self-management and cooperation should prevail.
