About Us
Digital Autonomy Center
At the Digital Autonomy Center (CAD), we believe that privacy is a fundamental human right. We work to strengthen the access to privacy for everyone by creating technological tools that help preserve it. We focus on the development of Free Software, which guarantees transparency and improves the security of our tools.
Our history dates back to 2017, and since then we have worked on a variety of projects, from the development of encryption protocols to the creation of secure communication applications.
At CAD, we believe in the importance of being part of the community. Privacy and security are complex issues that require collective solutions. That is why we actively participate in conferences, meetings, and workshops around the world, sharing knowledge and learning from other experts.
Mission
To defend and strengthen digital rights, from the perspective of human rights, through technical development and tactical action, seeking to generate safer digital environments for people and communities, especially for those who defend human and nature rights in the Latin America.
Vision
We aspire to promote digital autonomy in organizations and individuals, generating reflections and debates in society on the importance of security and privacy in the context of the defense of digital rights.
What do we do?
We work to strengthen the digital autonomy of those who defend human and nature rights, providing them with tools and knowledge to be protected. We focus on developing and sharing concrete and contextualized techniques, adapted to the specific needs of people and communities that face threats to their integrity.
We believe that digital privacy is a fundamental right, and we aim to make it accessible to everyone.
Alliances
We believe that there is strength in unity. That is why we work in a network with allied organizations that share our vision of a more just and equitable world. Together, we add knowledge, experiences, and resources to defend digital rights and build an internet for all people.
At the Digital Autonomy Center, we believe that privacy and security should be accessible to everyone. That is why we seek to raise awareness about online risks and provide tools to stay protected.
